Pet industry entrepreneur Katy Rehm and Pawfume Shop founder will get a chance to enjoy ‘la dolce vita’ having won an all expenses paid trip to Italy to attend Europe’s top international trade show.
She will visit Zoomark 2023, in Bologna, next May and promote her business to obtain potential export opportunities. The prize includes flights, accommodation and attendance at the show.
Katy won the competition which was drawn from a group of attendees at the PetQuip Awards, which was held at Telford International Centre, this weekend (25 September).
The former veterinary nurse, who also runs a successful dog grooming business, Groomers, in Formby, near Liverpool, was astonished when her name was called out to be presented with the prize by Zoomark’s Pascale Sonvico.
“I was completely shocked. I wasn’t aware of the competition prior to attending the event and did a complete double take when they called out my name. Of course, I am delighted. It will provide me with a great opportunity to further develop export opportunities and meet distributors across Europe for The Pawfume Shop range.”
The Pawfume Shop has developed a growing reputation since it was founded in 2015. Initially created as an offshoot to Katy’s grooming business, it has become hugely successful in its own right – selling its products to both trade and dog owners. It currently boasts 20 fragrances which give a nod to their human designer perfume namesakes along with shampoos and conditioners.
The business grabbed national headlines earlier this year when it’s most recent addition to the range ‘Savage Doig’ flew off the shelves at Crufts. Since then, Katy has added a ‘Savage’ shampoo to support the ‘layering’ effect of the products – keeping dogs smelling sweeter for longer.
Pascale Sonvico, Zoomark Show Office Manager, said that she was thrilled to offer the prize and to be working again with PetQuip which hosts a British Pavilion at our show to support UK business entering European markets.
“We look forward to welcoming Katy to Zoomark 2023 and involving her in the show. We hope that she enjoys everything it has to offer and will support The Pawfume Shop as a supplier to European customers,” she said.
PetQuip Director General, Amanda Sizer Barrett, MBE, added: “We offer our warm congratulations to Katy and The Pawfume Shop. We are sure that she will have a wonderful time and her involvement in the show will help boost her business even further.”
